About Flexing Time

Flexing time occurs when an employee is released from their regular scheduled assignment to work either a different day, another shift with no change in pay, or change assignment area.

Flex time requires two codes Flex Off (a nonworking type code), and Flex On (a working type code).

For example, suppose that an employee who works Monday through Thursday wants to swap his Thursday workday for Friday.

To process this scenario, first add the Flex Off work code on Thursday to release the person from their shift assignment. Then add the Flex On work code on Friday and indicate when and where this person will be working.

Important: Flex time codes are used by employees who do not impact minimum staffing levels, and when allowed by policy.
