About Time Earned

The system calculates time earned when two codes are linked to the same accrual group.

A nonworking type work code and a working type work code are required to create an accrual or a bank of hours. A non-working type work code deducts time from a bank of hours. A working type work code adds time to a bank of hours.

The Accruals report provides time earned and time taken totals. All instances of time taken and earned deduct or add time to a bank of hours.

Note: It is important to understand how this application handles time-earned and accrual banks. Work codes are connected by an accrual group association, and time values are calculated across all work codes within the same accrual group - which includes historical work code records. To omit historical records from the calculated total, the creation of new time earned wok codes are required in order to exclude references of historical time taken.
