- Knowledge of the entire rotation pattern.
- The total number
of days within a single rotation (cycle).
- The starting date of the first rotation or cycle. This could
be a scheduled or a nonscheduled day. This date starts the entire
rotation schedule. Only one starting rotation date can be supplied.
The
days in rotation must include scheduled and non-scheduled days in
a Shift and/or a Shift Mask. Example shown in the table below.

To create a new assignment rotation in the person’s
Assignment tab:
- Click Add.
- Select New Rotation.
- Enter the total number of alternating assignments or
cycles in Add Rotation.
- Click OK. The total number of assignments display
below Rotation in the Assignments pane.
- Select the first assignment starting from the top of
the list.
- Go to the General panel. Enter the start date
of the rotation in Staring Rotation*.
- Go to the Assignment Details panel. Enter the
number of days within the selected Assignment in Days Rotation*.
- Select the shift that corresponds with the date entered
in Starting Rotation.
- In the remaining fields select the organizational levels
to create the first assignment in this rotation. Be sure the areas
selected correspond with the date entered in Starting Rotation.
- Click Save to set the first assignment in the
rotation.
- Select the next assignment below the Rotation section.>>>
Do not change the Rotation Starting Date <<<
- Go to the Assignment Details panel. Enter the
number of scheduled and nonscheduled days within the selected Assignment
in Days Rotation*.
- Select the shift that corresponds with the date entered
in Starting Rotation.
- In the remaining fields select the organizational levels
to create the next assignment in this rotation. Be sure the areas
selected correspond with the date entered in Starting Rotation.
- Click Save to create the second assignment.
- Repeat steps 11 through 14 until you’ve completed the
entire rotation.
Open the person’s calendar and review the flow of the
rotation. Adjust as needed. The most common mistake is due to an
incorrect rotation start date and/or excluding the nonscheduled
days count in a shift pattern for the number of days in rotation.
