Event Type Field Descriptions

Field Name Event Type Field Description
Event Type Status Enables or disables the Event Type.
Name Long name.
Abbreviation Short name. The Roster shows the abbreviation of the unit associated with this event type.

Note:

When deploying event types on the Roster, the event type holds and shows the abbreviation as set in Setup > Organizations > Event Type. If the abbreviation is changed upon deployment, the new abbreviation will only show on the reports, not inside the curly braces, such as {old abbr}.

Unit Displays all Units. Assigns the selected Unit to the Event Type when this Event Type is deployed.
For example, if the Unit is an {e} unit, then you will need to specify the positions upon deployment. If the Unit selected contains predefined positions, then these positions are available upon deployment.
Obey Shift Times Defines a shift requirement for this Unit on this Event Type. When selected, the shift start and end times will be required. Editing the required time to something else may create multiple positions on the Roster to compensate for any remaining and required time.
Restrict Restricts the user from viewing the Event outside their authority level. Clear the check box to allow all users regardless of their authority level to view and access events they may qualify for.
Event Details Event detail notes that will automatically populate upon deployment. This text can be changed upon deployment.
Account The Account Code of the Unit. Max: 50 Characters
Vacancy Flags Choices are:
  • Calendar (c)- Allows users to view vacancies for this event on their Calendar, and the Dashboard. When selected, the vacancy displays a flag icon on the Calendar, and featured on the Dashboard. When selected the Roster displays the letter c next to the vacancy.

  • Signup - Allows users to sign up to work at this specific event location using the Where feature, and a sign up work code. When selected the Roster displays an ampersand @ next to the vacancy.

  • Self-fill - Allows users to self schedule themselves to work vacant positions they qualify for using this Event Type. When selected the Roster displays the dollar sign $ next to the vacancy.

  Self-Fill...

The Self-Fill feature runs rules that qualify and disqualify candidates. No priority sort order takes place. For example, in a self-fill environment, candidates at the top and bottom of the list have an equal opportunity to work the vacancy.

Additionally, if the self-fill vacancy flag is turned on, the user only needs to qualify for that vacancy position in order to use self-fill via Fill By Rules. Alternatively, if the desired outcome is to allow a user to self-fill for any vacancy regardless of whether the Self-Fill vacancy flag is turned on, grant the permission Roster: Fill in any vacancy which allows a user to freely self-fill for any and all qualifying positions.

Gray Number The application Internal ID.
