Extra Duty Event Positions

Any position can be attached to an Extra Duty Event (EDE). Extra Duty Events are not limited to position presets in the Unit. Because you can add multiple units, essentially mix and match {e} units with regular units, the positions (jobs) that display in an EDE unit may appear different in the same Unit.

A Unit with positions defined in Setup appear in bold font. These positions are pulled into the EDE by the selected Unit.

A Unit with positions created in the EDE Unit appear in regular font.These positions when added keep with the EDE until manually removed.

Technical Detail: Positions created using the EDE module are considered EDE managed positions. These positions are managed in the EDE area. Positions pulled from the Unit1 into an EDE based on the configuration of the Unit are considered EDE unmanaged positions. These positions were created outside of EDE.

Additionally, EDE vacancies display a job link on the Dashboard with Featured Vacancy Details. EDE position details appear when the employee is staffed to work the event. The Position details function displays additional information about the event, such as notes that are only visible to employees working the event.
