This task example requires knowledge of assignments,
shifts, shift masks, shift times, and positions in Setup.
Important |
This method is not applicable when distinct
administrative shift identifiers are required to feed a third party
system. |
Read the following task from start to finish
before you begin:
- Create administrative base shifts for every lunch
break variation. Ex: AdmNoLunch, AdmLunch-1hr, AdmLunch-30m.
- Configure each base shift pattern to run
Sunday through Saturday. Define a start time and duration period.
For example, 07:00,10.
- Enter a lunch break value in each of the administrative
base shifts. For example, type 0.5 to apply a 30 minute break
in Subtract Break.
- Merge the shift that contains the lunch break with
the shift that does not contain a lunch break. For example, open
the AdmLunch-1hr shift. Select AdmNoLunch in the Roster Merge menu
box. Repeat the steps for AdmLunch-30m. Select AdmNoLunch in the Roster
Merge menu box.
Use shifts, shift times, and shift masks or days of
the week buttons as building blocks and attach them to nonessential
positions in the Organizational Structure, or the Person Assignment tab.
- Go to the position in the Setup area to assign the corresponding
shift, shift time, shift mask... Select the the Assignment column.
To apply an administrative shift assignment:
- Go to the person’s Assignment tab.
- Select the corresponding shift and area. The schedule
automatically populates for that Position. Shift times appear disabled
because they are attached to the position.
Nonessential personnel will be grouped on the Roster
without cluttering the Roster with variousshifts .
