A shift defines a work schedule pattern and display
on the Roster. Shifts are assigned to people, and/or positions.

- A person with a shift assignment displays on the Roster
regardless of whether the position has a shift assigned.
- Positions with a shift assignment display on the Roster regardless
of that person’s shift assignment.
- Positions without shift assignments do not display on the roster
unless people are assigned to that position.
