Staffing: Clone Jobs

Same Add jobs functionality available on the Planning board is available on the Staffing board as of application version 7.3.

Jobs can be cloned onto one or more blueprints. Changes to any predefined data on the blueprint will apply to that instance of the blueprint only. To apply changes to this blueprint and any subsequent blueprints go to Blueprints in Setup and change the actual blueprint template. Cloning jobs that are shared does not result in a shared cloned job. Only the full job can be cloned, cloning partial jobs is not available.

Important: Functions inside the pencil icon target the corresponding Blueprint only. This means if you select jobs in Blueprint 1 and Blueprint 2, click the pencil icon for Blueprint 1 and select Clone then only the selected jobs on Blueprint 1 will be cloned.

Limits:
  • Cloning a job clones the job only not the person working the job if any.
  • Max limit for Add or Clone jobs when added to the existing jobs on the Staffing board cannot exceed a total of 1000 jobs.
  • Cloning a Shared Job clones the job only not the person sharing the job.

To use the Clone function1 on the Staffing Board in application 7.3 or greater follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Staffing board.
  2. Select the desired jobs to be cloned in a single blueprint or across blueprints.
  3. Options are:
    1. To clone jobs across multiple blueprints or a single blueprint go to the Jobs menu, and click Clone.
    2. To clone jobs onto a single blueprint use the pencil icon menu for that blueprint and click Clone.
  4. Clone Jobs opens. Note the red asterisk indicator next to required fields, and note the number of blueprints selected in the information bar. Configure the fields as desired.
    1. Quantity* - Defines the number of times to clone the selected job onto the corresponding blueprint.
    2. Adjust Start Time -/+ * - The start offset for the selected job in minutes. Default time is based on the corresponding blueprint’s start time. When multiple jobs are cloned with the same start time this field displays the Adjusted Start Time; if no match then field is blank.
    3. Adjust End Time -/+* - The end offset for the selected job in minutes. When multiple jobs are cloned with the same end time this field displays the Adjusted End Time; if no match then field is blank.
  5. Click Save.

The the source and destination of the cloned job will always be the same; for instance, suppose a Baker job is selected in Blueprint 1, and a Cook job is selected in Blueprint 2, the result will be an additional Baker in Blueprint 1, and an additional Cook in Blueprint 2.

1 Add jobs function is generally enabled, but disables when a blueprint is currently being allocated.
