About Shared Jobs

The Shared function allows a person to occupy more than one job at the same time. This feature returns same as jobs that encompass the From and Through time frame, and allows resources to cross and overlap organizational areas and shifts.

In the image shown below, Freddie is working his shift from 7AM-3PM as a Baker, and also covering the Lead job from 1PM-3PM. The Baker job is Shared with the Lead job. However, the Lead job starts at 1PM and runs through 9PM. Since Freddie’s shift ends at 3PM, the Shared feature automatically places him in the Lead job during times that align with his shift, which means he can only cover the Lead job from 1PM-3PM (automatically). This scenario creates a job vacancy from 3PM-9PM. A scheduler can fill Freddie for the entire Lead shift, or choose someone else.

Moreover, the system returns job positions that match the selected job’s start and end time, including overlapping positions within the same time period. This means if the selected position’s shift time is 8:30AM - 9:00AM... The shared feature for a job position can be activated after the event is deployed by using the Edit feature, or by presetting a shared position at the template level in Setup > Schedule > Blueprints.
