The Preferences area is used to configure preference profiles for employees to edit, view only, or reorder via their Preferences tab.
Preferences are similar to building blocks where you can create as many preferences as desired and then layer and bundle them in a single container, a Preference Profile container. Each employee can only have one Preference Profile, but a a Preference Profile can hold one or more preferences or containers with each preference within.
The application does not enforce people to apply a Preference Profile, as people can choose the preference to do nothing. However, a preference within a preference profile can contain required settings. For example, suppose that you have a Shift Preference Profile, the Preference is set to Required, Limit 1, and show all Shifts. This means if the employee chooses to set the Shift Preference Profile the application will require the employee to choose a shift in order to save their settings.
