Request Work Hours in a Specific Area

To specify where to place this work code on the Roster, the work code must be configured in Setup > Codes as type Working and Check for behavior... Allow Roster Location Change.

This feature is used to allow personnel to enter time on, such as Overtime worked due to a late call, administrative duties, meetings, court time, etc. By default, when a person adds a working type code such as overtime on a day off the system will use the employee’s assignment information to place that record on the Roster.

For instance, if Joe’s assignment shows Shift A in Unit Z the system will default to Shift A and down to the Unit and his position. However, Shift A may not be On the day Joe adds the extra working time, and he happened to work Shift B and inside Unit X.

To identify the shift or precise unit and position or both you can use the Allow Roster Location Change setting to turn on the Roster fields when adding that work code.

To request time on and set this record on a specific Shift or specific area or both on the Roster:

  1. Go to the Calendar to select and process one or more days at a time, or go to the Roster to process one day at a time.
  2. From the Calendar, click on the desired date or dates to enable your Calendar options and select Add. From the Roster click on the work code column and select Add.
  3. In Work Code*, select the desired exception code from the drop-down list.
  4. The From and Through fields populate with predefined system settings. Use these fields to change the start or end time.
    • To change the times use format: HH:MM (ex: 2:30p.m. = 14:30)

    • Use the Hours field to change the number of hours and have the system auto populate the Through field for you.
  5. In Add, verify your dates and then select the desired dates. If a Detail Code, Account Code or Note is required the application will prompt you to enter the information.
  6. Click Roster, populate the fields to change the Shift or Location or both for this record.
  7. Click Save. The Save button enables if no issues intervene or you have the permission to override the issue.
