Disable a Job Title

This task outlines the recommended steps to disable a Job Title.

Important: It is very important to disable job titles correctly because job titles are linked to various areas and functions within the system.

To disable a job title in the General section of the Setup area:

Job Titles are linked to positions in the organizational¹ structure, be sure to review and modify Positions as needed before disabling a rank.
Access the applicable job title in Setup > General > Job Title
Optional - in Name, show this job title as disabled. For example, preface the job title with the word ‘disabled’ to show disabledDriver. Doing so, will alert you of oversights and functions ties to this job title were not fully removed from the system, and will show as such, including reports.
Click Disabled.
Click Save.

You must remove any association this job title has throughout the system.For example, check positions in the organizational structure that may contain the disabled job title, run a people Filter query to return people with the disabled job title, and so on.
