Configure a User Defined Field

Requires permission Setup: User Defined Fields to configure. Review About User Defined Fields concept and field reference topics.

To edit or create a User Defined Field (UDF) in the General section of the Setup area:

  1. Select a UDF and click Edit; or click Add to create a new UDF.
  2. Name the UDF.
  3. Select the desired Data Type.
  4. Type a meaningful and concise description for the selected UDF in Help Text. Max 500 characters.
  5. Click Save. The UDF will be visible in the person profile tab.
