Variables are predefined and specific to the source data (auction, person, or position). They are used to coerce values from the source data by using predefined text.
Variables are enclosed in curly brackets to avoid confusion with constants. Formula IDs can be used in the Auctions module to enable authorized users to display Auction Items with the proper target dates (e.g. January 7-January 13) rather than items with the shift cycle label (e.g. Cycle 1).
