Attachments can be static or dynamic. Both static and dynamic attachments are associated with an attachment group in Setup.
A static attachment is a fixed attachment, this means the note cannot be altered when applied on the Roster or People page.
A dynamic attachment allows the note to be defined when applied on the Roster or People page. The flexibility of defining a note on-the-fly makes dynamic attachments the most common use case.
